Parrish Farms.
🧅 Meet Parrish Farms, a family-run farm in the heart of Bedfordshire, proudly managed by three generations of the Parrish family since 1927! Originally a dairy farm, they’ve been cultivating onions and shallots for 30 years on the rich soils of the Greensand Ridge, with a deep commitment to sustainability.
🌍 Nick and James Parrish work closely with the Greensand Ridge Local Action Group, using funding from the European Agricultural Fund to bring in cutting-edge direct drill technology. This helps improve crop growth, reduce seed waste, and cut down on resource use!
🐝 Environmental stewardship is key at Parrish Farms. With uncultivated field borders to boost biodiversity and GPS-controlled tractors for precise planting, they blend tradition with innovation across 150 acres of shallots.
🔋 The farm is powered by renewable energy from solar panels and has invested in advanced storage facilities to keep crops fresh. Plus, winter reservoirs and smart irrigation ensure water efficiency, even during dry spells.
🌱 As a LEAF Marque certified farm, Parrish Farms is dedicated to sustainable farming practices that protect the environment while producing the finest alliums.
